This was a first experience with Salvia Divinorum. I have long & varied experiences with drugs. I smoked it after taking a moderate dose of poppy tea. Aside from reading about Salvia online I had no experience with it, nor do I know anyone who has ever used it.

The recommended dose seemed to be about a tenth of a gram so I approximated that - it was a 10x extract. Put it in a hash pipe, lit it up, took a deep hit, held it. Noticed the tv was getting a little wavy, checked the bowl and saw that the leaves were well incinerated. I didn't have a sitter but I'd told my wife what I was doing and told her if she heard any strange noises, not to worry. She was in another room.

I blacked out completely although I knew I was on the floor. My wife said she heard a bang and then some growling so she thought I was wrassling with the dog, but then the dog came running to get her and she still heard the banging and growling. I was in a different reality, had no sense that I'd taken anything, no sense of who or what or where I was. I think I was simply paralyzed and the terror and scenario that I thought I was in was just a result of trying to shake off the paralysis but I thought I was a child and had just learned that I didn't really exist and was about to be re-absorbed into the ether. The pain and terror was well beyond anything I'd ever experienced (although vaguely like the few times I've half awoken while still in sleep paralysis). At first I tried to resist the sense of being annihilated but the pain was so intense I decided annihilation was the better option. I remember trying to lift myself off the floor but I kept getting sucked back - I felt like half of me had already dissipated.

Maybe 3-5 minutes had passed, and then suddenly I became aware of the room I was in, it looked vaguely familiar, I saw the dog and he looked vaguely familiar, it started to dawn on me that I wasn't really about to be annihilated. My wife was standing over me looking horrified, over the next 30-60 seconds real reality took shape around me, I tried to sit up but still felt heavy and uncoordinated, and within another minute or so essential normalcy resumed with a sense of relief as vast as the sense of horror had been.

Afterward, I felt fine, kind of relaxed, kind of pissed that my wife had flushed the remainder of the divinorum down the toilet. I'll try it again, maybe, but start with a much smaller dose.
