“Subjective reports of lysergic acid experiences in a context of psychological test performance”.
Amer. J. Psychiat.. 1958;115:30-35.
Abstract
30 normal subjects were given 100 mcg. LSD orally. A battery of psychological tests was performed under control conditions and after LSD. Each volunteer wrote a report on his experience. Five reports are reproduced as examples of the variety and expressiveness of the reports, which give insight into the qualitative changes experienced. . The psychological tests showed that LSD disrupted the defense system of the individual, impaired his contact with reality and disrupted his ability to maintain any effort to deal with the demands of the environment. . Under the influence of LSD, I.Q. decreased in 24 of the 30 cases.
